If purchased from your phone, you'll receive two copies of the song: a Windows Media Audio Pro Plus format at 64Kbps stereo is sent to your phone, and a Windows Media Audio 9 format at 160Kbps stereo is sent to your account in the V CAST Music online store for downloading to your PC. V Cast Music offers nearly 2 million songs, with more being added all the time.
Verizon's Mobile eMail gives you access to your Windows Live Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and AOL accounts so you can read, write, and reply. Getting on the Internet is easy using Verizon's Mobile Web 2.0 package, which allows you to read and send e-mails, exchange instant messages and view your favorite web content on your phone. Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with this phone. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads using the Get It Now service.
With this GPS-enabled phone, you'll be able to access Verizon's VZ Navigator service (additional charges applicable) for voice-prompted turn-by-turn directions, heads-up alerts, local search of nearly 14 million points of interest in the US (such as landmarks, restaurants and ATMs), and detailed color maps. And Verizon's Chaperone service lets you easily locate your loved ones from your Verizon Wireless phone or PC in real time. After defining a zone, such as an area designating a school or summer camp, you'll be sent an alert via text message when the Chaperone handset enters or leaves the zone.

Solid replacement phone
So we got on a 2 year contract, and I got the Blackberry 8130. Three weeks later, it gets washed in the washing machine. Friend gives me his Treo, which then stops working, and I'm out of a phone.
Head up to the Verizon store and they tell me that because I'm not due for a phone upgrade, the cheapest phone they could replace it with would be a no camera, no bluetooth, bare bones phone.. however let me tell you, it wasn't cheap.
Walking out disappointed, I look over at Target. Go in, buy the prepay-version Blitz for way less money, call them to do an ESN swap, *228, and presto: a fully-featured, awesome cell phone working fluidly with my contract.
I've owned a lot of smartphones in my day. Blackberry is usually my phone of choice, but I've had other various Windows Mobile and Palm devices. The Blitz has a refreshing and modern user interface, navigates seamlessly, and does not slow down or bug up. Call quality is solid, texting is great with the fully qwerty keyboard, and the added tools (calendar, most notably) have been really helpful for a guy used to more spendy phones!
Navigating around the mobile web has been the least impressive element of the Blitz, primarily because I'm used to 3G phones and browsers that render webpages better. However, Verizon charges half the cost for unlimited data on the Blitz vs the Blackberry, so the decrease there is made up for economically.
Other reviewers have complained about accidentally pushing buttons that lead them to data charges. I feel it important to note that all of the shortcut buttons are programmable. A few of the directional buttons lead to mobile web if touched because they are programmed this way by default. This can be easily changed in Settings. That said, this phone is best coupled with a data plan, anyway. There are too many cool features that would be going to waste without it!
I am very happy with my Blitz.
dont know why everyone else is having issues!
I have owned this phone for a few months now. I don't have issues that the other posters are complaining off for example. Having to turn the sound down to alarm only? You do not have to do this. I use the alarm all the time with all other sounds turned on....how am I supposed to know when someone is calling me if I turn them off.
When the phone is in the closed position the keypad is locked you must push ok to unlock it.
Dont carry the phone in your pocket and you wont have issues.
The pics are not great hey its only 1.3 megs. Yes people your are talking too can sound bad turn off the privacy setting and they will sound better.
Yes the keys are small but my 6'5 hubby whos paws are huge has no problems once he got used to the phone.
Patience people...play with your phones learn how to use them.
Dissapointed
I upgraded from a LG White Chocolate to the Verizon Blitz Phone. A new every two bonus from Verizon Wireless. This phone does not measure up to the LG Chocolate that I had for over two years. The voice used to identify calls is often illegable. The phone does not support Get It Now or the online Verizon Contact Backup. The LG Chocolate had all of the features of the Blitz plus it recorded video. This phone is a dissapointment overall. The only feature it has that the LG did not have is a keyboard. Check it out carefully before you buy.
